adidas World Cup SG cleats and 11Nova IN

Soft ground cleats can be hard to find with the majority of cleats being made for firm ground, but today adidas brought back the classic World Cup SG cleat.  It is like the Copa Mundial with kangaroo leather upper and the classic black and white colorway, but this version has the SG studs for soft ground surfaces.

The World Cup SG has the extended tongue that can be folded over.  It also has replaceable aluminum studs on the bottom connected to a triple density outsole.  The World Cup SG weights 10.2 oz which is not exactly light, but not bad for a classic SG cleat.  You can get it now in sizes 6.5- 13 for $160 at adidas.com.

Also today adidas added the 11Nova IN indoor shoe.  It comes in a solar blue with hints of battle pack pattern around the heel.  The upper is made with Free Kick leather with vamp stitching in the forefoot.  It also features memory foam and suede lining for comfort.  For cushioning, there is an EVA midsole with adiprene in the heel.  The 11Nova IN is available now in sizes 7-13.5 for $75 at adidas.com.

adidas adizero Prime Boost to be released in US July 13th

Up until now all the Primeknit shoes such as the Primeknit soccer cleat, Primeknit Campus and Stan Smith, and Primeknit running shoes have only been available overseas, but today adidas news announced it will be releasing the adizero Prime Boost running shoe in the US on July 13th.

This will be the first US release of a Primeknit shoe.  The Prime Boost is expected to be for sale on the main website as well as in adidas Sports Performance stores.  It will sell for $200 with the first colorway being the red and black shown here.  No word yet on additional colorways to be released or how soon other Primeknit shoes will arrive in the US.

The Prime Boost is similar to the light weight Adios Boost shoe of the current lineup.  This is already a highly sought after shoe so it is expected to sell quickly.  Keep your eyes on the main site on July 13th for the release.

adidas Stan Smith Custom available now

Stan Smith Custom – Right along with the custom ZX Flux and Superstar 80s, the Stan Smith shoe is getting in on the action with a custom version of its own.  The custom leather version is available now as well as a suede version.

The Stan Smith has always been a minimalist shoe so the color options for this model are somewhat limited as expected.  However, you still get to choose between 3 leather materials, as well as many colors for the laces and logo.  The heel tab offers the most customization with several colors of leather, metallic, tennis ball, and even pony hair material.  You can also get standard white, cream white, and black for the sole depending on the color selected for the upper materials.

One of the most unique parts of the custom Stan Smith is the insole customization. You can customize the color of the insole and add repeating text to it up to 20 letters.  This allows a lot of word options for inside the shoe.

The Stan Smith custom is available now in men’s sizes 4-14 and women’s sizes 5-15 for $100 at adidas.com.

Update 9-12-15: A new custom Stan Smith is available now with more color and material options.

adidas Superstar 80s Custom Shoe

Custom Superstar 80s – While the Superstar 2.0 has been available to customize for quite some time, today for the first time, a new version, the Superstar 80s became available for custom.

What makes this one special is the amount of material choices available.  No longer is it just plain colors. With this shoe, you have the option of materials including: leather, crocodile, snake, basketball, ripstop, metallic gold, and metallic silver.  You can also change the center stripe to make it different from the outer stripes.  We would still like to see the option to make all 3 stripes different.

The Superstar 80s custom also comes with extra laces of your choosing as well as the option to add text to the heel.  Upon testing it out, like other custom items, there are certain color combinations that seem to be restricted.  It is not clear why this is the case.  Never the less, there are still tons of options to play around with here to make a truly unique shoe.

The Superstar 80s is available for custom now in men’s sizes 4-14 and women’s sizes 5-15 for $110 at adidas.com.

Update: The Superstar 2.0 custom has been taken down but more options such as more colors for the stripes have been added to the Superstar 80s custom.

adidas ZX Flux Custom available now

ZX Flux Custom – Today the ZX Flux became available for customize on the main website.  It it not the photo custom that is expected to arrive later this year, but the regular custom options where you get to pick the colors of the shoe.  It is available in men’s sizes 4-14  and women’s size 5-15.

For customization, the ZX offers 9 colors for the base and 13 colors for the stripes.  Surprisingly it has a lot of color options for the midsole and outsole.  We are used to just getting a few options for this part such as white and black, but for the ZX Flux there are 16 colors for the midsole and 14 colors for the outsole.

The the custom ZX Flux also comes with an extra set of laces that you can also choose the color of to get even more options when it comes to choosing the look of your shoes. It also gives you a choice of whether or not you want to add a heel strap to the back.  There are no text or number options to add for this model, but that is not a huge deal considering how all the other parts can be customized.

You can get the custom ZX Flux now for $105 at adidas.com.

Update: You can now also customize the ZX Flux with a photo or design of your choice using the Photo App.
