Today adidas has released a new version of the Predator cleat called the Predator Instinct.  This firm ground cleat has been released as part of the Battle Pack series that will be used at the World Cup.

The new cleat features several key changes from the previous model including a new frame called the Control Frame.  This frame has textured grooves around the sides to provide even better contact and control for the ball.  It also features new lethal zone textures now called 3D superlight rubber for excellent ball control.  The Hybridtouch synthetic material is carried over from the previous generation boot.  There is also a gel pad that has been added to the inside to help with passing control.

No word on the weight of this cleat yet.  It will be interesting to see how players like the new Control Frame which has replaced the Sprintframe from the previous model.  Expect more colorways and versions of the new Predator Instinct cleat to be rolled out over the next few months.  The Predator Instinct Battle Pack is now available for pre-sale with a launch date of May 26th.  It can be ordered in sizes 6.5-13.5 now at adidas.com.
