adidas has released a new super light version of the adizero 5-Star 3.0 cleat, this one with one goal in mind and that is speed.  The 5-Star 40 cleat weighs only 4.6 oz which is even lighter than the F50 soccer cleat.  It resembles the current 3.0 cleat but is more streamlined with a thin upper material, thin laces, and microsuede sockliner.  Like the 3.0, it has the Sprintframe for light stability, Shockweb for light upper support, and Sprintstuds for traction while sprinting.

To promote this cleat, adidas is having a contest at the NFL Scouting Combine with a prize of $100,000 to the player who runs the fastest 40 yard dash while wearing the adizero 5-Star 40 cleats.  Not a bad chump of change for running 40 yards.  This limited edition cleat is currently on sale for $150 at adidas.com.
